Wood Stove Chimney Through Second Floor

I have a 12 x 65 ft.
Wood stove chimney through second floor. In a two story house the stove pipe would most likely connect to the metal chimney through an exterior wall on a gable end of the house. We considered re routing the stovepipe through the ceiling so we could have some of the metal surface exposed upstairs but it was a big job and it would have meant redesigning the second floor layout.
